Mini Mioche

Calling all the mama's! Something special is popping up in our shop – but this isn’t just any brand coming to town. We’re beyond excited to announce that our little babes’ favourite clothing line, Mini Mioche, is coming to bunk with us in our little boutique from May 7-15, 2016!

Mini Mioche was founded in 2008 by Alyssa Kerbel. Struggling to find simple, quality and Canadian made goods after the birth of her first child she was inspired to start her own clothing business. She began designing her own collection of infant and kids fashion basics – and as mothers, we are oh so happy she did!

Right from the get go, Alyssa has strived to do something different than most apparel companies. Every article of Mini Mioche clothing is made start to finish in Canada – so we can feel good about purchasing these items for our little babes and bundles of joy.

Join us, starting this weekend,   as we fill our boutique with Mini Mioche goodies and beautiful Blumenstudio plants, succulents, terrariums and flowers, just in time for Mother’s Day! This just might be one of the most beautiful events you’ve been to all spring ;)

Spring Colours

With the temperatures rising to the double digits, we couldn’t be any more excited to peel off the layers and start wearing softer and brighter colors. This got us thinking about the latest color trend for spring.

Twice a year for the fashion industry Pantone releases a list of top 10 colors that we can expect to see and wear the most in the coming seasons. These are usually compiled by colour experts from around the world who talk to a number of designers and pay close attention to the latest trends. This spring you can expect to see colors that are calming and peaceful, with a few bold and playful hues. For those of you who like to stay on trend, you'll be happy to hear you can find fashionable pieces in each of these colours here at VAM! Think light and flow dresses in soft colours perfect for those warmers spring/summer days.

Heartloom

Although it may not seem like it after this week’s indecisive weather, warmer weather IS bound to come. So we couldn’t be any more excited to share with you a new line at VAM that just hit the floors: Heartloom.

Founded in 2009, Heartloom is a New York based brand that combines East Coast sophistication with a laid back West Coast style. This contemporary women’s clothing line is casual, modern and cool, focusing primarily on bohemian style, flowy designs. Picture vintage inspired prints, delicate (but not too delicate) dresses perfect for any occasion, lightweight shorts and knitwear with unexpected and beautiful detailing.

VAM turned 4

Being the busiest time of year, the last few days have been a little hectic.  But just wanted to write up a quick blog post since our shop celebrated its birthday on December 1st.

Our beautiful little boutique turned 4 years old. Time really does fly by when you are having fun (and working hard!) A huge thank you for all the encouragement and support from our customers, friends, family and staff.  We are grateful everyday.  You truly warm our hearts.
Wellington West is an absolute gem of a hood and we are surrounded by entrepreneurs who we admire. A HUGE thank you to our incredible husbands who help out with the shop with their talented hands and patient hearts. Now three babies later, we love saying to them "viens avec moi à la boutique" , our second cozy home.   

Maman et bébé

We're happy to announce that Maman et bébé Monday mornings are back - so be sure to save the date! We will be opening our doors from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Monday, November 9th, 2015, so that you can shop in a stress free environment while your babes sleep, eat or play with other little ones! Fresh coffee and le petite déjeuner is served on these zen like mornings. All are welcome, so feel free to join us sans bébé as well!

Monday Muse: Oh Land

Us gals with Oh Land.

With her cotton-candy hair, killer cheekbones and witty, intelligent songs, Oh Land is the ultimate Monday Muse. Her style isn't too shabby either. Basically, we LOVE Oh Land. 

Starting out as a ballet dancer in Denmark, Oh Land began her music career in 2010 by posting some of her songs on MySpace. After getting signed with Sony, Oh Land began to shed her picture-perfect dancer style and began to experiment, and we can't get enough.

Last year we saw her perform songs from her two studio albums at H&M, she has an amazing stage presence to go with that totally killer style.

We love how she mixes girly pieces and accessories with foil jackets and a more androgynous look. Her clean makeup look lets her hair and clothes do the talking, which we love!
