This Saturday, June 25th is officially Buy Canadian Day. So there’s no better day to come and explore Ottawa’s ‘made in Canada’ shopping district! Wellington West is full of beautiful locally owned boutiques that offer a wide range of Canadian made goods. Find everything from fashion to home goods in this Ottawa-favourite shopping district.

October is shop local month, but we celebrate it all year round! You can find new designs from one of our favourite local designers in store every season. 

So who’s this local designer we speak of, you ask? Ottawa born and raised Krista Norris, of course!

Krista Norris Collection is a Canadian accessories line focused on creating unique and timeless scarves for the adventurous but sophisticated, the spontaneous but composed.

This line, which is inspired by textured fabrics and authentic leathers, was born out of seeing how one item can be incorporated into an outfit, day in and day out.

If you have a passion for scarves (I mean, who doesn’t love cozying up to a super chic, ultra soft, over-sized scarf?!) and for supporting local, you want to try one of these on! It’s the scarf that suits everyone, as it falls perfectly on your body. What could be better than that? Scroll down for a peek at what we have currently in store!

 

Hintonburg Hap!!

Of all the 'hoods in Ottawa, Hintonburg has to be our favourite. Okay, I'll admit we are a bit biased, but you can't deny the appeal of Hintonburg. With all the shops, galleries and cafes there is no doubt that Hintonburg is a happening place.  (If you haven't noticed, I'm going for the "saying Hintonburg the most times in one blog post" prize.)

Starting this weekend and for nine days after, Hintonburg will be happening in an official sense. Starting on Saturday, June 21 to Sunday, June 29, there will be events galore in the 'hood of Hintonburg.

We're celebrating with a trunk show featuring local scarf wunderkind, Krista Norris and the always amazing Bernice & Barclay on June 22 so make sure you stop by!!

Other events include a workshop with the queen of positive thinking, Kate Durie will be down the street from us at Twiss and Webber along with art exhibits at Cube Gallery, Cyclelogik and on bus shelters along Wellington. Our friend Dwayne Brown and his LoveOttawa project will be showcasing a special LoveHintonburg night at MINT Hair Salon and Peter Joynt will be performing on June 21 in Somerset Square!
